This is a portrait of my niece Shanon Steel who works for Opera Australia as a Tour Manager. Her next tour is a hot tour that goes up the Queensland Coast and across to Darwin and then south to Alice Springs. She is responsible for looking after the performing company and crew as well as the orchestra. She has managed travel, safety, and all things HR while on the road.
The theme of the exhibition that will feature all this work is CONTRAST.
It is fun to work with her in this way.
In complete contrast to my self-portrait which captures the exciting stage of Grey Nomad, Shanon is caught at the opera house while working at Opera on the Harbour. She is learning the finer arts of painting and is experimenting with painting the Opera House across the river from the site where Madama Butterfly is now being staged.
